I have just added opendingux 1.2 to my newly acquired RS-97. I can connect it to Windows via USB and access the Rom storage (G:) on my sdcard. I have tried adding some roms to the Roms folder but the system seems unable to find them. When I try and browse I seem unable to find the Rom storage partition. Can anyone offer any help/advice regarding this? Thanks

It does not scan for folders externally. You can use the browser to select ROMs and it will "guess" the emulator. I demonstrate it at 10:35 . another thing: it cant play video?? but there's a file called Greenlight.mp4 on the device itself also, is there a huge zip file i can download that has all the games the device itself has? i have a 2TB external hard drive and i use public library there's quite a few games with the wrong title. example, you might open Final Fantasy and find out it's actually Barbie. i forgot what was which
Yeah I tried that. But I fixed the issue a different way. I started over by using minitool to get rid of the partitions and clear the card. Then I formatted the card to FAT32. Then I went through the whole process of getting the firmware and roms added to it like in the tutorial video. This time I was able to get to my roms. They were in /mnt/ then int_sd. They werent there the first time. So I think the issue was that my SD card wasnt formatted properly before going through the process.
Have you tried connecting your device via usb by holding button b down when powering on?
Im having the same issue. None of the directories allow me to access the ROMS partition at all. Which means I have no way of adding roms or emulators to the device. Also when I try to take the SD card out of the device and hook it up to a computer directly, I cant edit it, because it isnt formatted correctly. So all I can do is add stuff to the ROMS partition and then have the device not even recognize it.
Also the solution you suggested just doesnt work for me. When I go to Gmenu2X, there arent many options at all. There is only
"language
last selection
global volume
output logs
TV-out encoding"
Those are the only options. There is no emulators section. And even if there was, I dont know if it would even let me access the ROMS partition, since nothing else seems to.
Most roms can be in the .zip format but only pc engine must be unzipped when you start a emulator it will open up a browser window. You need to tell it where your roms are if you press the select button and then edit you will see the option (browser on) find the path to your roms and set it so when you start it next time it will go strait to the roms directory you selected.
This is just a very quick guide how to add a emulator to the gmenu2x below the guide is to add snes9x4d.For other emulators of games add your own names that matches the emulator or game.
1. Transfer snes9x4d.dge to roms (icon file eg SNES.png can be added too) 2. Press SELECT button whilst in Emulators section of Gmenu2x and choose "add link in emulators", navigate to snes9x4d.dge and press A 3. Press SELECT button on the link just created and pick "edit snes9x4d". Modify/check the following fields (when editing selectordir, use START to go back): title=snes9x4d description=Snes9x4d emulator ported from GCW0 icon=path to SNES.png selectordir=/mnt/ selectorbrowser=ON wrapper=ON 4. Press START to exit back to desktop
